In a world where cutting-edge technology is at our fingertips, what makes professional portraits any different from the photos we can take on our smartphones? This is a question that I hear often, and it's understandable. The camera quality on our everyday devices has gotten so advanced, but there is a big difference between a quick snapshot on your phone and commercial-level quality that can be captured by a professional. 

A lot of times when it comes to having your picture made, I have heard all the fears and preconceptions people have about it. Whether you have just made an appointment with me, or are considering it for the future, here's what you can expect when you come in. Each shoot day looks a little different, but the basis of each portrait session remains consistent: I am here to make you feel comfortable, confident, and leave happy with the final product.

The ribbon cutting was held by the City of Woodstock, accompanied by Michael Caldwell, mayor of Woodstock. Jerry King, owner of J King Images, was celebrated by colleagues and members of the local business community afterwards by a reception hosted by Arlene Dickerson, CEO & Founder of Technical Resource Solutions.

Most people spend a lot of time thinking about how they'll pose or whether they'll look natural in front of the camera. Very few spend enough time thinking about what they'll wear. This is purely based on my own experiences. Take it with a grain of salt. Everyone's situation is more similar than different. Creatives as a whole do not value their work or suffer from some degree of impostor's syndrome.

Henry recently contacted me for a social media portrait session after a pretty extensive web search for a style he liked. As a professional photographer, I strive to set myself apart from others. It's not so much me being competitive. It's a validation of all the time and hard work spent to develop a style where the viewer sees themselves in my interpretation of the world. 

I recently met up with Patrick Marcigliano at Starbucks near Marietta Square to talk shop. It's not often I have the opportunity to sit down and talk with another working photographer. Patrick came in after a two hour client shoot in and around downtown Marietta. The first thing I noticed was the medium sized camera bag hung over his shoulder. We ordered our drinks and after a brief round of decision making of where to sit, the conversation began.
